Bicycle Locks
Chain locks, cable locks, U-locks... there are many types of locks to choose from, and one lock definitely does not fit all. It's best to familiarise yourself with what you'll need from a lock: commuters who lock their bike up at the train station need locks that offer a higher level of security than occasional riders cycling to the pub down the street. Of course, one can't make generalisations - depending on the value of the bike, a visit to the pub may very well require a high-caliber security lock as well. This much is clear, however: the type of lock should always be selected based on the level of risk for theft. As a general rule, the more lightweight and practical the lock, such as a spiral cable lock, the lower its theft protection capacity. High quality U-locks and chain locks, on the other hand, provide the highest level of security. But oo matter how hard the metal and how encapsulated the locking cylinders -- there is no such thing as 100% security! It's all just a matter of time. So never leave your bike unattended for long periods of time in unsafe areas. Always lock the frame triangle to a stationary object. And to make sure your wheels and saddle are still there when you return, we recommend additional small cable locks or loop cables. These guys are pros, so make it as tough on them as possible.
