Disc Brake Pads
Brake discs have to resist a large amounts of force when you want to stop your bike after a furiously fast descent. If, due to a need for greater braking power, you want to upgrade to a larger diameter, the brake calipers must be adjusted to the new size using adapters. Discs can sometimes also take a heavy hit during a fall and bend. In this case, the disc must also be replaced. Manufacturers strongly advise against bending the disc back to its original shape as there is then a tendency for it to break. You have been warned! Two standards for fixing hubs have become established on the market: 'IS-2000' (International Standard) and 'Centre Lock' (CL - Shimano compatible).
