MTB Flat Bars
There are two basic forms of MTB handlebars: Either as a virtually flat bar or in the cranked version. Flat handlebars usually have a slight bend for ergonomic reasons. As a result, there is little impact on the seat position – however, steering behaviour is extremely direct. Particularly MTB handlebars are fitted in mountain bikes with a stretched seat position and sporty geometry. If the seat position is supposed to be more upright and moderate, then cranked MTB handlebars are recommendable. In this respect, there are enormous differences in the bending angle exericing a considerable influence on the seat position. The steering behaviour of cranked handlebars is not as direct as that of straight handelbars. In turn, the bike does not react as nervously and the more upright seat position improves control upon descent and on steep inclines. It is ideal for tour cyclists, Enduro riders and freeriders.
