City & Comfort Saddles

City / comfort saddles are aimed more at a high level of comfort, suspension and ergonomics. Those usually sitting upright in the saddle and exploring the countryside want to glide along without any pain and as comfortably as possible. This requires a wide seating surface. The saddle therefore needs to be constructed in such a way that the optimum amount of room for rider's legs exists and that the rider can pedal efficiently. However, the more upright the seating position, the wider the saddle must be. Extra elements of comfort, such as gel inlays, elastomer suspension and flexible frames are absolutely standard for city / comfort saddles. Wider, shorter saddles that are considered by many to be considerably more comfortable are also available especially for women. In comparison to trekking / touring saddles, city saddles are more comfortable, wider and not set in such a racing-style position.
