Seat Posts
The seat post is more than just a secondary component of the bike that supports and fixes the saddle. The seat post allows you to determine the optimum individual seating position: by pushing the seat post into the seat tube, the bike can be perfectly adjusted to fit the necessary body size (providing that the frame is the correct size). Horizontal adjustment of the seat post allows the saddle to be moved several centimetres forwards or backwards. The saddle position can also be further adjusted within the clamping system. Thanks to these various combinations of adjustment options, the seat post offers great potential for optimizing your position. If the bike set-up is not suitable, then improvements can be made by adjusting the seat post, handlebars and stem. Seat posts generally fit on nearly all types and styles of frame; it just depends on the exact (!) diameter.
