The electric bike, ebike or pedelec (short for Pedal Electric Cycle) are common terms for a bike that is equipped with an auxiliary electric motor. The electric motor is a back-up and can only be activated by your own pedalling power. Progress without pedalling is not possible! With its integrated motor, pedelecs are suitable for hilly terrain, for the daily route to work as well as for comfortable pleasure tours of up to 130 kilometres. In the past it was the older generation that was targeted with ebikes. However with continual technical improvements electric bikes have changed a lot in the last few years and the tuned two wheelers are also attractive for younger cyclists. Lithium ion batteries, in comparison to nickel metal hydride, are much more durable and powerful. Experience cycling in a whole new dimension - without sweat inducing exertions!
