Product Description

Please note: all of our bike models come with an EU standard brake setup. This will need to be reversed to comply with UK cycling standards.

The Ortler Bern is the latest generation of high-quality city e-bikes with a powerful Shimano Steps E-6000 mid-engine.

In addition to the modern electric drive, the Berne impresses with well thought-out and durable details. A Shimano Nexus 7-speed system is responsible for the correct gear selection, while hydraulic Magura HS11 brakes provide perfect braking power at any time and in any weather. Schwalbe's Big Ben tyres offer excellent damping properties, ensuring high riding comfort even on field and forest roads. The component package is rounded off by a Trelock LED lighting system, a stable aluminium touring carrier and high-quality details such as AXA frame lock, Ergo handles and comfortable Selle Royal saddle. The Shimano Steps drive is a modern mid-engine system characterised by high reliability, great power and long range. The special highlights of the Shimano Steps drive are its pushing aid, multifunctional display and long range abilities. The battery is 80% charged after 2 hours and complete after 4 hours. The battery can also be recharged directly on the bike thanks to the integrated charging socket. This e-bike is suitable for a maximum total weight of 130 kg.

In version E6010 it’s also available with a coaster brake.

Range

How many miles will my battery last?
Can I get 50 miles from one battery charge or even 120? For those interested in buying an e-bike, this is a very important question. Manufacturers try to be as realistic as they can about possible ranges your e-bike may manage on one complete battery charge. In practice, however, the maximum range depends on many different factors.  As well as the type of motor you have, factors include the energy content (400 or 500 Wh), handling and age of the battery. However, the rider's weight, sitting position, riding style (starting frequency, cadence) and selected support levels (Eco, Tour, Sport, Turbo) all greatly influence the range. Last but not least, the track profile (uphill or flat), the ground (road or terrain), wind (headwind, tailwind) and even tyre profile effect distances possible. This makes it extremely difficult to provide precise and reliable information.
