Product description

absoluteBLACK Oval Chainring for Race Face Cinch Spiderless black (black)

The difference between Boost148 and normal non Boost Kättenblättern lies only in the offset of the chainline. Boost chainrings have an offset of only 3mm while normal chainrings have an offset of 6mm.

The advantages of the absoluteBLACK spiderless Boost chainrings are obvious. The ingenious design ensures an excellent weight and stiffness ratio. A special patent-pending oval shape and a greatly improved mountain performance. The special 3D tooth milling enables good self-cleaning properties, long durability and low noise development. The weight saving is made possible by omitting the spiders and screws. The oval shape allows a more efficient power transmission and relieves the knees. The oval shape has no negative influence on the pedalling rhythm. The chainrings also fit 170/190mm Fatbike cranks.

What size?

A 26Z oval chainring has an ovality of 24/28Z and is perfect for someone who currently drives round chainrings with 26 teeth (Fatbike!).
A 28Z oval chainring has an ovality of 26/30Z and is perfect for someone who currently rides round chainrings with 27 or 28 teeth.
A 30Z oval chainring has an ovality of 28/32Z and is perfect for someone who currently drives round chainrings with 29 or 30 teeth.
A 32Z oval chainring fits perfectly for someone who drives a round chainring with 31 or 32Z. While it feels like a 31 tooth chainring, it develops speeds equivalent to a 34 tooth chainring.
A 34Z oval chainring has an ovality of 32/36Z and is perfect for someone who currently drives round chainrings with 33 or 34 teeth.

How do I mount a RaceFace Oval chainring?

The chainring has a mark on the back which has to be aligned to the middle of the crank arm to get it into the right/recommended position. Who a more aggressive one? Setup wants to shift the chainring from the main position by a clockwise toothing. This rotates the chainring another 22 degrees. However, we do not recommend this position to beginners. Before you start moving the chainring, you should have driven in the basic position for at least 5 months.
