GPS & Navigation
If you are going further afield, to a new area or just want to start tracking your rides, then a GPS device is a must. Most devices are handlebar-mounted so you can just look down and see the screen or there are compact, lightweight GPS watches that are perfect for running, hiking and other outdoor activities. These GPS devices are designed for sports, and outdoor use so many are waterproof or at least splash-proof. Battery life is also a key issue, generally the bigger the screen, the shorter the battery life. If you use a route-planning App, it is important to check the GPS device supports and work well with your chosen App. That way, you can quickly and easily upload and use your planned routes.
