Stands for mounting at the frame's rear

If your bike doesn't come with one, a stand can usually be retrofitted to the frame's rear without much effort. On bikes with rim brakes, this is possible with almost any rear stand in a length that fits the wheel size. For bikes with disc brakes, special models are available that provide enough space for the brakes. These are usually supported at both the chainstay and the seat stay. Whether the stand is compatible with your bike's wheel size is usually indicated in the item's description. Be careful if your bike has a coaster brake: in most cases, it's not possible to use a rear stand due to the limited space available. Here, a side stand mounted at the bottom bracket is a better choice.
