These Assos XC pants are really good for me and yes also really pricey. Whether that's too much or too high I can't judge and for me it was much more important that I could ride longer rides without discomfort. First time went for it and drove 80km together without a penny of pain. literally! I had only experienced that with other Assos cycling shorts and considered the fabric too vulnerable with all branches etc. over the tracks.
With my other pants I don't pull such distances without pain and this is decisive for me. Not as annoying as wanting to but not being able to.
I have to say that I have no experience with other brands in the higher price range.
I have included the XC leg warmers. Because what makes these pants and the leg warmers unique to me compared to regular cycling pants is the additional dust protection and MTB setting. They are really different from road cycling shorts and fine.
I don't like to cycle bare-legged through forests and fields because of the many branches and other stuff. This set is ideal for me because there are simply no long summer pants.
The fit of the pants. I have XL and it is ok. Size 33/34 jeans with thick legs underneath ;-) Maybe L would also have fit because I'm often in between L and XL and depending on the size of my thighs, it probably fits well. The leg pieces also come in XL and there I am a little more sure that L could have been done. At the same time, nothing moves and I can drive wonderfully long distances with it.
I have already forgotten the purchase price because of the cycling pleasure.
