Grip width adjustment
If you can control your ride with just one finger, it’s extremely important to adjust the brake handles exactly to the unique shape of your hands. This is exactly why all Avid brake levers have a grip width adjustment.

Bend Zone
Avid knows that falls can occur and has therefore developed the Bend Zone. In a violent collision, where a conventional brake lever would fail, the Bend Zone ensures that the brake lever bends and the grip body is spared major damage. So not only can you prevent the worst without having to brake like Fred Feuerstein, you don't even need a new grip body.
