The rain trousers leave a good amount of freedom at the knees, are waterproof, but I don't think they will last up to 5000mm. On the butt (water through the rear wheel) she couldn't hold the water; I was wet to the skin despite wearing cycling shorts with padding underneath. Everything stayed dry on the legs. I won't be sending it back because otherwise it absolutely fits my needs: long enough, can be worn over shoe covers and even has a small bit of fabric that protrudes over the shoe and it doesn't make your skin sweaty (even on a strenuous ride). . Actually perfect!
