Fun fastening device but does not fit everything

Bought mostly as a fun thing when I could not fit one more water bottle holder in the bike frame. Has proven to be an at least partly practical way to bring stuff with you. A soda can or small water bottle fits perfectly. The Velcro strap has some kind of friction layer so I do not think anything slips out in the first layer if you can tighten it hard enough. I can fold a very thin windproof jacket small enough so that it can be fastened, but I do not get a slightly thicker jacket to work. Small juice packaging in cardboard is ok but I'm a little afraid that it will come out as I can not tighten so hard.
This is not such a stupid idea, and if it fits what you want with you, it can probably be really good. For me, it is usually easiest to just carry a bag.
