Cube Mountain Bikes to Hit the Trail

Cube Mountain Bikes

German bike maker Cube has earned a reputation for producing fun and great-performing mountain bikes at affordable prices. The company outfits even its entry-level bikes with premium components, meaning that Cube mountain bikes are great value for beginner and experienced riders alike. Is a Cube mountain bike right for you? Let’s take a closer look at Cube’s lineup of hardtail and full-suspension bikes and what they have to offer.

Cube Hardtail Mountain Bikes

Cube makes fully eight different lines of hardtail mountain bikes, so there are a lot of options for different styles and price points. The main thing to know about all of Cube’s hardtails is that they’re optimised for cross-country and all-mountain riding rather than hard-charging enduro or downhill disciplines. These aren’t the most aggressive hardtails on the market, but they’re incredible fun to ride on smooth trails. The Aim, Analog, Attention, and Acid hardtail lines all share a common aluminiumframe. The main difference among these bike lines is how premium the includedcomponents are – the Acid is at the top of the lineup and includes a Shimano XT drivetrain. Bikes in these series are offered in both 27.5” and 29” wheel sizes. The Reaction hardtail line is Cube’s more aggressive bike. It’s built with a triple-butted aluminium frame or a carbon frame depending on your model, and theframe geometry is slacker to enable more technical riding.Cube’s Elite bikes are all made with lightweight carbon frames and premiumcomponents. These hardtails are specialised for cross-country racing, although youcan use them for long distance rides as well. Finally, the Nutrail is Cube’s hardtail fat bike offering. These bikes are built with a triple-butted aluminium frame and feature a RockShox Bluto suspension fork.

Cube Full Suspension Mountain Bikes

Cube’s full-suspension mountain bikes are split into five lines: AMS, Stereo, Sting,Hanzz, and Two15.All bikes in the relatively inexpensive AMS line feature 100 mm of suspension travel and a lightweight carbon frame. These bikes are only available as 29ers.The Stereo line is more diverse, with a broader range of components available and suspension travel of either 120, 140 or 160 mm. All these bikes are also available in both 27.5” or 29” sizes, and the Sting line of bikes essentially includes women’s-specific versions of some of the most popular Stereo models. Depending on how much suspension travel you opt for, the Stereo and Sting bikes are ideal foranything from cross-country to enduro.
