26“ hardtail & full-suspension mountain bikes
For many years, it was a given that mountain bikes used 26" wheels. The classic wheel size has now been mostly overtaken by the 27.5" and 29" formats. However, the 26er still has its fans, playing an important role when
agility and stability are paramount, and still popular with many smaller riders. For cross-country and even downhill use, the popularity of 26" mountain bikes has fallen sharply, together with the price. For the dirt jump and bike park disciplines, bikes with 26" wheels are still popular.
