Orbea Mountain Bikes

Based out of Mallabia, Spain, this brand has long been at the forefront of bike innovation. Founded in 1840, Orbea started out life as a gun manufacturer. However, in 1930, the company changed to making bikes with them first appearing in the Tour De France as early as 1934.

Orbea Occam M30-Eagle Green

Over the years, Orbea has branched out to create a range of different bikes including mountain, trail, urban and road models. However, it's their mountain bikes that really stand out for both competitive and recreational use.

Here at Bikester, we have a massive selection of Orbea mountain bikes for you to choose from, so take a look today!

Taking to the mountains

Orbea has a wide array of different mountain bike options available from the Orbea full suspension MTBs to the Orbea hardtails. But, what are the differences between them?

Between these two, which you choose is up to you. The main difference is that the hardtail has no rear shocks. The rear wheels on these bikes attach to the frame directly and use a front suspension fork only. Some can even use a totally rigid frame. If you intend to use your mountain bike for other uses, then this could be the one for you. And that's because it's more adaptable and can be used as a more all-round option.

If you're looking for that exhilarating mountain bike descent though, then a full suspension MTB is a great option. The Laufey for instance is one of the more versatile bikes from Orbea. It's a great bike for newbies and experienced bikers alike thanks to its notable features, including:

  • More stability through the flatter steering angle
  • Better cornering via the low crank
  • Good high-speed stability from the longer axle spacing
  • Strong peddling position from the higher saddle angle
  • Wide range of movement from the longer cockpit design

Easy journeys

But Orbea isn't just about hitting the mountain slopes, there are a number of bikes available for more relaxed journeys too. Take a look at the Orbea Vector series for instance. The Vector is a great open road bike. Indeed, it offers a mix of durability alongside a low weight. In fact, you can use this for most biking needs from urban cycling on your daily commute to a jaunt in the park at the weekend. As far as multi-role bikes go, this is the answer.

Going cross country

If you want a sturdier multi-purpose option, then you should be looking at Orbea trail bikes. The most notable of these is the Orbea Oiz series which falls into the category of cross country hardtails. The Oiz has a number of top features that make this bike stand out. Some of these include:

  • Aluminium for a lightweight frame
  • Stiffest and powerful bike for its type
  • Full suspension
  • Hydraulic brake system

This type of bike is ideal for a range of terrains. Whether you're heading uphill or on the flat, this is a bike that can handle it all. If you want further proof, then this bike is also used by two-time World Champion, Tomi Misser, which goes to show its pedigree.

Dressing right

Not only does this brand offer a range of different bikes, but there is also the Orbea clothing range. You can shop for top-quality helmets to ensure you're cycling safely regardless of the terrain. They also offer cycling jerseys, vests, bibs, and skinsuits. There's everything you need to help you dress for the occasion.

So, take a look at all the clothing options right here at Bikester and stay warm and streamlined when you use Orbea products.
