Plus Hardtails: fatter tyres for more traction
Plus bikes get their name from their fatter tyre size, usually between 2.6 and 3 inches. This offers increased traction and cushioning over narrower tyres, meaning you can run lower tyre pressure for better grip on the trail. Together with the suspension fork, plus hardtails are capable of everything from short trail centre rides to more adventurous riding higher up in the mountains. Not quite fatbikes, but still very confident on unstable terrain.
