Electric Cargo bikes

For the most part, bikes are usually just a one-person affair. But not so the cargo bike. So what is a cargo bike? Perfect for moving about in an environmentally friendly fashion, these bikes can carry much larger loads than normal bikes. And that's anything from extra bags to small children.

Cargo Bikes

However, there are a number of different cargo bikes available and these can include trikes, pedicabs, box bikes, longtails and so on. Here at Bikester, we have a wide array of different cargo bikes for you to choose from.

Biking in the city

For those all-important school runs, there is a good range of cargo bike options out there. Additionally, there are also electric cargo bikes, which can make some of those regular bike runs a lot easier.

If you're looking for urban e-bikes that can handle your weekly shop, two kids and more, then we have a great choice of different options available. For instance, the Metz E-Packr is a strong sturdy bike that can handle a lot when moving around the city. This bike has a ton of excellent features that make it a great option. These include:

  • Two storage trays
  • Sturdy frame
  • 8 gears
  • Rechargeable battery
  • Pushing aid

When choosing a cargo bike, though, it's important that you make sure you choose one with good quality parts, which is exactly what we offer. Additionally, you should consider a low frame bike as this makes it a lot easier getting on and off the bike, especially when carrying extra items.

Taking your biking off-road

But cargo bikes don't have to be just for in the city. Adventure e-bikes are also a great way to take a trip and again, you can take your kids along too. Of course, these cargo e-bikes are also great for use when carrying extra equipment such as camping gear.

Some of these cargo bikes can have added extras, such as trailers. By attaching a trailer, your cargo bike will be able to take on even more when you need it for heavy loads.

Customising your bike

Excitingly, a number of the cargo bikes available are great for customisation. This means that you can add children's seats to the bike, additional front trays or even extra racks. By getting a cargo bike with a secure frame, you can opt for additional front storage too.

In this way, you can bulk up your bike, or remove racks when you're travelling alone.

Choosing the perfect cargo bike

It is important that you consider exactly what you are using the cargo bike for though. This will affect the tyres, e-bike suspension forks and more that you choose. You will also need to carefully consider the battery and motor if you're opting for an electronic bike. This is because it will affect whether you can use the bike in the city or the countryside.

For instance, wheel motors drive from the front wheel, whereas mid-drive motors are attached to the bottom bracket instead. The former is perfect for use through urban terrain, whereas the latter is much better for long or steep inclines when out on rugged terrain.

Similarly, it's important to consider the battery as well. Some bikes can be charged easily at home, great for short runs throughout the town. For longer, off-roading options, it's better if you ensure the battery life is longer so that you don't get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Whatever you choose though, here at Bikester we have a great collection of cargo bikes. Available in a range of shapes, sizes and colours, it's just up to you to find the one that meets your needs.
