These completely closed goggles originated in motocross and are used in mountain bike sports, especially in the gravity disciplines of downhill, freeride and enduro. Usually they're combined with full-face helmets, effectively completing your head protection by shielding the eyes from impacts and dirt. The optical quality of the curved plastic lenses and the size of the field of vision are central, but ventilation also plays an important role in preventing fogging of the glasses.
