E-bike helmets – extra safe
Since you tend to reach higher speeds on an e-bike, these helmets are more robust than conventional bike helmets. They have even higher impact absorption and extra ventilation. The helmet also covers the back of the head and resembles a lightweight motorcycle helmet. The buckles and straps are also stronger so the helmet stays exactly where it’s meant to be.

E-Bike Helmets

Whenever you cycle, protecting your head is a very important aspect of safety. But, when it comes to e-bikes, you're going to need something a little bit different than your standard bike helmet. So, what is the difference between a standard bike helmet and an e-bike helmet? Essentially, as an e-bike means you are going faster, it's important to have a higher level of protection in place.

Here at Bikester, we have a range of quality e-bike helmets available. Read our helmet guide to find out which one is the perfect option.

Electric Bike Helmets

More head padding

Because of that extra speed offered by the full range of different e-bike types, helmets need to have higher impact absorption in case of an accident. There are a number of top brands available on Bikester that do just that.

Lazer e-bike helmets use the Turnfit System to ensure there is a snug fit when you choose this helmet. This in-mould technology offers your head better protection. What's more, these helmets are unisex and come in a range of matt colours to keep you looking stylish.

Another plus is that these helmets have six vents to offer cooling when cycling as well, making them perfect for commuting and urban users.

Full head protection

Unlike standard bike helmets, e-bike helmets cover the entire head, protecting the back of the head as well. In fact, these helmets look a bit like motorbike helmets; the only difference is that they're more lightweight.

Met e-bike helmets, in particular, have a more motorcycle helmet feel to them. These come in stylish colour combinations, including black and red or yellow and red. The more comprehensive coverage provided by this brand is perfectly suited to exploring mountains or riding single tracks as it does offer added protection.

There's a flexible injection-moulded plastic visor, and you can even attach goggles or glasses to the helmet for additional protection. With intelligent inner padding, the helmet is stabilised on your head no matter how rough the terrain. It's also designed to withstand impact from multiple angles.

Strapping in

No matter where you are intending to wear your helmet, making sure it's strapped on securely is an important part of fitting the helmet correctly. BBB e-bike helmets come with a simple adjustment system that you can operate with one hand. These helmets are simpler in design than some other brands, offering an easy in-city helmet solution.

As well as having stronger buckles and strapping than regular bike helmets, this helmet provides additional safety features for city cycling. There are front and back visors as well as a rear light to ensure you're visible at all times, especially on those late nights home.

Keeping it light

With all the added features, and the need to provide additional head protection, these helmets run the risk of being heavy. But that's not the case. E-bike helmets are all carefully designed using lightweight materials so that while they look like motorbike helmets, they're so much lighter. They're also easy to keep clean, thanks to the range of removable, washable padding inside.
