The teeth on the DT hub can be changed without tools. Simply unclamp the wheel and pull the freewheel away. Very clever construction!
The sound is much more aggressive and louder.

My Canyon Spectral Mullet came standard with DT Swiss hubs with an 18T ratchet set. This means a "clearance" of 20 degrees in the crank section before engaging the rear wheel when pedaling.
When I drove on technical uphill sections and pedaled backwards half a turn (to avoid hitting e.g. a rock with the pedal) and then forwards, it felt like the chain jumped.
With a 54T kit, the clearance is reduced to approx. 6.7 degrees and is almost imperceptible. A lovely upgrade you won't regret! Then it also sounds fun as 54 teeth spin against each other compared to 18!
