DT Swiss Wheels for Road and Mountain Biking

DT Swiss

DT Swiss is renowned in the road and mountain biking communities for producing high-performance components – most notably wheels. The company puts a dual emphasis on durability and innovation, working all of their products through a rigorous testing process before releasing them to cyclists. At the heart of DT Swiss is a drive to help cyclists perform their best and push for new, more ambitious goals by giving them the bike technology they need to succeed.

DT Swiss Tubeless Technology

DT Swiss has in recent years pioneered producing tubeless wheels for mountain and road bikes, which offer a number of advantages over traditional clincher wheels. Tubeless mountain bike wheels can be run at lower air pressures, making for more comfortable riding and greater traction on complex terrain. On road bikes, tubeless wheels are faster because lower air pressure reduces rolling resistance and there’s no friction between the tyre and tube as in a conventional wheel setup. Although tubeless tyres can be somewhat hard to repair in the field, DT Swiss wheels are compatible with tubeless milk that self-seals small punctures. Still, for riders who prefer a conventional tube setup, all DT Swiss tubeless wheels are designed to accept clincher tyres and tubes.

DT Swiss Mountain Bike Wheels

DT Swiss wheels for mountain bikers are designed to be rugged enough to handle cross country trails and aggressive downhill riding, yet fast enough to help riders challenge their limits. Every DT Swiss mountain bike wheel is rated according to its suitability for different styles of mountain biking – cross country, all mountain, enduro, downhill, and fatbiking – making it easy to find the right wheel for you. While DT Swiss does have a handful of carbon mountain bike wheels, the company favours producing lightweight aluminium rims for their greater durability. In addition, DT Swiss focuses on the two most popular mountain bike wheel diameters – 27.5-inch and 29-inch.

DT Swiss Road Cycling Wheels

DT Swiss road cycling wheels are engineered for maximum performance. Not only does the tubeless-ready design increase speed, but DT Swiss also uses aerodynamic spokes to cut weight and air resistance against the company’s wheels. Most DT Swiss road wheels are made from aluminium rather than carbon to increase durability. Plus, you have a choice between wheels with conventional rim brake tracks or disc brake-ready road wheels. Keep in mind that DT Swiss tends to produce narrow road wheels – less than 22 mm in width – which are better for standard road racing than time trial cycling.

DT Swiss Wheel Accessories

If you need spare parts for your wheels or to conduct a repair, DT Swiss offers a wide range of axles, hub components, and spokes. Plus, DT Swiss wheel bags make it easy to safely transport your wheels for races and big rides.
