Worn the socks for the first time today in moderate rain. After 2 minutes, the first moisture penetrated the ankle area, after 5 minutes it was wet and after 15 minutes the socks were flooded. Water-repellent might be just about right, but they are definitely not waterproof. When it rains I will wear thin wool socks again, they keep you warm when wet and at least dry quickly. I cannot recommend the socks to anyone. wasted money
