Faced with the constant growth of e-bikes, Fulcrum has developed the first all-round wheel specifically for e-road and e-gravel. They have applied their successes in the E-MTB world and their technical know-how to these latest developments in current bikes and the new way of cycling.

Fulcrum first developed a special rim profile for the E-Racing 4 with an inner rim width of 22 mm (ideal for tyres between 30 and 45 mm), special self-locking nipples with a long head and special spokes. As they learned during the development of the E-MTB wheels, the motor increases the load on the freewheel, which also has to absorb greater torsional loads over longer periods of time. This is what they have focused on. The freewheel body is the contact point where the drive force is transferred from the cassette to the wheel, and due to the higher forces and the shocks caused when the motor is activated, it is subjected to higher loads. That's why they use a hardened steel freewheel body with its own ratchet blades that can withstand a 30% higher breaking stress. The results of a laboratory analysis of the behaviour of the individual pawls over more than a billion cycles are clear: the service life of hardened steel is twice that of Ergal pawls used for conventional road freewheels.

RDB RIM DYNAMIC BALANCE
The concept is simple and ingenious: balance the mass of the rim joint with an equal-value mass positioned exactly opposite.

WIDE RIM TECH
The Fulcrum R+D department, following the wishes of the racing teams, worked to create rims with a greater width in relation to the past, starting from about 4 mm more than the previous ones.
This technical choice makes it possible to offer the ideal support base for 25/28 mm tyres, the preferred sizes today. In this way, stability, optimal handling and high comfort are guaranteed.

ASYMMETRIC RIM
The rim asymmetry is designed to improve the tension of the rim while balancing the forces coming from the brakes and the sprocket set.
