The Dime MIPS is a kid-sized version of the rugged Quarter MIPS adult helmet, so it has all of the same great features—an eps liner for impact management, a tough outer shell, riveted webbing anchors and plush, sweat-absorbent pads that are easy to swap for dialing in the fit. Another standout feature is the Dime's polyurethane coating, which helps protect the EPS liner from daily wear and tear. Plus, the Dime MIPS models are available with the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, which Giro believes can redirect energy and provide more protection in certain impacts.

MIPS Technology
The MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) consists of three main components: The EPS liner, the Low Friction liner and an elstomeric attachment system between them. When rotational forces are applied, the elastomers allow the EPS shell to move independently around the head. Helmets equipped with MIPS can offer increased protection in certain situations.
