I had the 12.5cm version before. Never had an issue and I was riding with it for 5 years and flew over the bars like a 100 times ... In the end a little string broke, but that was an easy fix for 5chf. The even fixed this issue in the design, since the new 17cm does not have that part. 17cm gives you a lot of space even if you are tall. The price is really good for what you get. Generally a great dropper!
