Lapierre Edge 3.9 – a mountain bike with real momentum
The Lapierre Edge 3.9 is a bike that can do everything you can imagine for a fair price. It’s robust enough to ride narrow trails in the forest regularly. At the same time, it’s comfortable enough for leisurely day tours, whether on forest roads or the tarmac, not least thanks to its suspension fork. And if you do get the travel bug, it offers you the option of attaching a luggage rack.
The main difference to the Lapierre Edge 3.7 are the larger 29-inch wheels, which have become popular on sporty mountain bikes for good reason. They roll better over obstacles such as branches and are harder to throw off course than 27.5-inch wheels. However, they aren’t as manoeuvrable and require compromises for smaller frame sizes. If you’re shorter than 1.75 metres and like to ride winding trails, then consider the Edge 3.7 with its smaller wheels.
Otherwise, all components have been selected with reliability in mind. The Shimano Acera groupset shifts smoothly through its 24 gears. This makes it even easier for you to select the exact gear that suits you best and easily crank up every climb, even at the end of a long day. And on the way down, low-maintenance hydraulic disc brakes bring you safely to a halt, even if it gets muddy.
