Product description

Lupine SL AF 7 Front Lighting 6.9Ah SmartCore Battery Handlebar Holder Ø31,8mm Wiesel

Please note: the majority of our electronic products that come with plugs are fitted with 2-pronged EU plugs as standard. The operating voltage remains the same, however you may require an additional, simple EU to UK adapter to use them

The SL with high beam function
The sensor-controlled daytime running light and glare-free 1000 lumen dipped beam light bring you safely through road traffic at any time of day. With the push of the button you unleash the 1300 lumen high beam and fire your bike over demanding trails.

Light for every situation
Twilight begins, and the SL automatically switches from daytime running light to low beam and shows you the way through traffic without glare and safely. Outside the city, you press the button on your Bluetooth remote control and unleash a full 1300 lumens of high beam.

Low beam
The dipped beam of the SL is designed after the model of a car headlamp and is absolutely glare-free for oncoming road users.

High beam
The 1300 lumen high beam of the SL F is not simply a more powerful dipped beam. At the touch of a button, the entire light image changes and illuminates an additional area far above the glare-free cut-off line: perfect for fast journeys and demanding trails. The SL F is the world's brightest StVZO-approved bicycle lamp with its own battery.

A carpet of light
In contrast to other StVZO approved bicycle lights, the light image of the SL A is not limited to a small strip but conjures up a wide and homogeneous carpet of light directly in front of your front wheel.

Bluetooth
Everybody is familiar with it: it is night, the road is clear, you turn on the high beam and accelerate. This is exactly the feeling the SL F brings to your bike. With the two buttons on the Bluetooth remote control, you can blend up and down in fractions of a second or switch through the light levels of the dipped beam.

Caution: Bright
Like a car, it really annoys everyone who comes towards you when you forget to turn off your high beam. That's why, in high beam mode, the button symbol and the SL lettering on the lamphead glow in elegant blue.

Sensor-controlled daytime running light
The adjustable stereo sensor system scans your ambient light and switches your SL from daytime running light to low beam in time. At the same time, the sensors enable the high beam function. The daytime running light of the StVZO models is continuously supported by the main headlight.

Light. Years ahead.
The heart of the Lupine SL is made up of 18 Osram Compact CL Automotive LEDs and the world's first Dual Aspheric Lens System for bicycle lamps. The material used for the lenses is extremely weather-resistant and is also used in aviation and medical technology. The extremely robust and high-quality aluminium body reliably protects the SL F from shocks, dust and water.

Pushbutton on lamphead
You control the SL AF with your Bluetooth remote control. On the underside of the lamphead, however, you will find an additional button with which you can control the lamp, bind the remote control and select from three preset light programs.

STVZO yes ......
Translated from the German To the original
I do not necessarily agree with either of the previous two opinions. I also come from a 5000lm lamp. However, it is the BETTY from the same manufacturer. So I was really excited to see what kind of light the SL AF would provide. The lamp was supposed to "replace" the Betty for me, so as not to dazzle oncoming traffic on bike paths and on the street. It works really well. Low beam is cut sharply upwards, really cut off. The high beam goes a little further up. Here is now "faded". So a really good lamp for the street. But only for the street. Even in light terrain (MTB), the lamp becomes a safety risk. Due to the sharp section you can see insufficiently upwards (branches, etc.). During braking maneuvers, when the fork is immersed, there is a risk that you will not see anything except the area in front of the bike. A small, narrow trail with a sharp right bend at the end soon became my undoing. Sharp braking and the whole carpet of light went down - blind flight (with high beam). Conclusion - it is not an all-round lamp. She is at home on the street or on paved paths. For road cyclists (trekking bike, racing bike, commuter, etc.) who want the best in STVZO lamps, I can absolutely recommend the lamp. For everyone else who is also on the road, it does not have to be HardCore terrain, are better served with a "not STVZO" lamp (LUPINE Wilma / Betty). In my case, the BETTY is dimmed to 4 watts in "cycle path mode" and the battery is loaded with 30 watts as "high beam". I am deducting a star because of the inadequate suitability for all-terrain terrain.

First class lamp

This lamp currently replaces an LED lamp with a nominal 4500 Lm - despite 900/1300 Lm it is significantly brighter and above all with a much wider illumination (makes a huge difference especially when turning). With the Lupine I always have the feeling that I can see safely and recognize obstacles well. With the high beam you almost feel like a car. It is also very good that the lamp illuminates very brightly in dimming mode without dazzling oncoming cyclists or pedestrians (which has always been the problem: either sufficient light and glare or hardly sufficient visibility and then non-dazzling on the way .. .). The lamp also makes a very good haptic impression thanks to the high-quality lamp housing. With the easy-to-use remote control on the handlebar and the optical display of the high beam thanks to the blue illumination, you are never too distracted while driving - meaningful detailed solutions. A little bit of bitterness: the length of the cable from the battery to the lamp is just sufficient - 30 cm wouldn't have hurt here (I would have liked to have stored the battery in my frame pocket instead of on top of the top tube). There is an additional extension cable, but that also costs 12 € (I would have liked a longer cable for a lamp in this price category). Overall: would buy the lamp again immediately and feel much more comfortable with the lupine than with all previous "Asia LED" lights - no matter how many lumens they supposedly had. Usually there was an extremely bright cone of light in the middle and rapidly decreasing luminosity towards the sides - this is completely different with the Lupine.
