With the new MT5e, MAGURA is logically targeting the booming market of e-bikes and fast S-pedelecs with drive assistance up to 45 km/h. The advantages that already make the demanding all-mountain/enduro bikes so attractive are now also available for the fast S-pedelecs.

The advantages that have already convinced demanding All-Mountain/Enduro mountain bikers cannot be denied in urban traffic either: The lightweight brake lever housing made of MAGURA-exclusive Carbotecture material offers outstanding ergonomics in combination with the special pedelec brake lever made of die-cast aluminium. The extra stiff four-piston brake caliper with brake pads that are child's play to change - thanks to magnetiXchange brake pistons - ensures superior braking power in every conceivable riding situation. And the legendary MAGURA Royal Blood brake fluid is not only more environmentally friendly than the DOT brake fluid of many competitors, but also guarantees long-term low maintenance and thus low operating costs.

MAGURA has come up with a groundbreaking new solution for the MT5e: a mechanical switch that sits directly in the brake lever. In this way, the brake light is activated even before the onset of the braking effect. This also benefits drive systems with recuperation mode, if the drive cut-off is activated as early as possible. And in the event of crash damage, replacement is far more cost-effective.

The MT5e also uses the new Storm HC brake discs, which have even greater durability and mechanical strength than the previous Storm versions. The new friction ring geometry of the brake discs, which are available in diameters from 160 to 203 mm and are still 2 mm thick, also ensures optimised wear and noise behaviour.
