The Nicasio is for the rider looking for something different and modern, yet with traditional steel construction. Classic lines and CrMo frame tubes have the soul of a classic bike, with the geometry and 700C x 30mm-40mm or 650B x 47mm tires to let riders handle any surface.
BEYOND ROAD GEOMETRY
Beyond Road Geometry offers a blend of endurance road handling with enhanced stability for off pavement use.
STEEL FRAME CONSTRUCTION
The Nicasio uses a Series 2 or Series 1 butted 4130 CrMo frame with disc brakes, full fender and rack mounts, and two to three bottle bosses.
DISC BRAKES
Disc brakes provide smooth, controlled stopping in all conditions with minimal maintenance.
TIRE CLEARANCE
The Nicasio frame and fork has clearance for up to 700C x 35mm or 650B x 47mm tires.

Nice bike - cycles excellent (use for gravel / mtb routes in NL).
Handles nicely - steel is a bit flexible and offers a lot of comfort.
Tires on the bike are also excellent!
Downside is the weight - 13kg is heavy. But in NL with few altimeters it doesn't matter that much.
In terms of final assembly: groupset does its job excellently. Disc brakes are mechanical, so that takes some getting used to since the braking force is considerably lower compared to hydraulic pulleys.

That was my second Nicasio+. I immediately sent the first bike back because of obvious defects. The gears could not be adjusted on this bike, nor did troubleshooting with Microshift lead to success. There are probably manufacturing tolerances in the rear derailleur or the built-in Sunrace cassette. The bike itself makes a solid impression, although the paintwork is already crumbling in places, for example where the brakes are attached. The rear wheel hub failed after 50 km and has been making grinding and cracking noises ever since. The solution to the problem with Fahrrad.de is very slow. I messed up the season. With great certainty that was my last Marin.

Wow, what a surprise egg! The bike doesn't look spectacular in the data sheet at first: a weight like a Dutch bike and components that are difficult to classify.
Once you sit on it, you (almost) forget it. The geometry is lively and encourages you to leave the street and race through the terrain - the bike is just plain fun. The Microshift shifts precisely and cleanly, the range of the 9 gears is well coordinated (even if you would like more gradations on the mountain). The only big drawback are the brakes, which should be replaced quickly with something snappier.
