Product Description

Mavic's newly designed Ksyrium Pro Exalith wheelset consisting of the new FTS-L freewheel body and the narrow rims. The wheelset system impresses with the optimal mixture of Exalith and Maxtal as well as an unbeatable price/performance ratio. The composition of Mavic's Ksyrium Pro Exalith rims with a 52 mm high rim profile and a width of 19 mm designed for wire/folding tyres form the basis for low inertia.

In addition, the specially tuned Mavic Yksion tyres are an ideal addition and make the Ksyrium Pro Exalith the top wheelset for competition. Ksyrium Pro Exalith rims consist of Exalith 2-coated rim flanks and a lightweight Maxtal aluminium rim, allowing up to 18 percent shorter braking distances in both wet and dry conditions. Due to the special material properties, the Ksyrium Pro Exalith rims have less wear and a longer service life. The aluminium brake surface has a rougher surface than standard aluminium rims and according to Mavic this coating is designed for 20000 km. Use Mavic's special brake pads to get the maximum performance of the Exalith coating. The Cosmic Pro Carbon 17 wheelset also features stainless steel aero spokes: 18 on the front wheel and 20 on the rear wheel.

The intelligent tyre system from Mavic with the new Mavic Yksion tyre not only increases aerodynamics, but also allows you a high level of riding comfort with good puncture safety thanks to its 127 TPI thread density. Fine tuning for the Cosmic Pro Carbon Exalith wheelset by using a softer rubber compound on the front wheel (Yksion Pro GripLink) for optimum cornering and a harder rubber compound on the rear wheel (Yksion PowerLink) for less rolling resistance and durability.

Best braking performance. The exclusive Mavic Exalith 2 technology for aluminium rims has been further refined to ensure extra durability and the best possible braking performance in all (weather) conditions. The braking distance is 18% shorter in wet conditions, with unchanged brake lining wear. The Exalith treatment penetrates the aluminium, reduces wear and ensures that the anthracite-grey look is maintained over thousands of kilometres. New black Mavic Exalith 2 brake pads provide quiet, strong braking performance and durability

ISM 4D Inter Spoke Milling 4 Dimension. ISM 4D4 reduces weight and inertia without sacrificing longevity. This results in faster acceleration, better handling and greater stability - the perfect mix for a better riding experience. The exclusive Mavic patent with its ingenious rim profile also ensures even better aerodynamics.
- Up to 50 g lighter for even faster climbing performance.
- Minimum inertia for maximum acceleration
- Extra aerodynamic rim profile for lower drag A good front tyre, whether clincher or tubular, must provide maximum cornering and control. This is why GripLink tyres are optimally designed for use on the front wheel and offer superior grip plus extra high puncture protection.
- Maximum cornering safety plus strong steering control: non-slip rubber compound and water-draining tread design - Full directional stability in any riding situation: smooth and extra dense carcass
- Reduced risk of breakdown: fixed Kevlar protection layer

PowerLink A good rear tyre, whether clincher or tubular, must provide optimum power transmission and maximum speed. That's why PowerLink tyres are optimally designed for use on the rear wheel and impress with minimum rolling resistance.
- Superior power transmission, reduced rolling resistance and cornering grip: Dual compound rubber compound
- Improved rolling characteristics: light, supple and extra dense carcass
- Even longer life with reduced risk of breakdown: Dual compound rubber compound plus fixed nylon protection layer Fore Stiffer and more stable In place of a conventional rim bore, the inner rim base is pressed inwards in one operation and provided with a thread into which the spoke nipples are screwed directly. The outer rim base remains intact.
- The rim is 4 times more resistant to fatigue
- The rim is 20% stiffer - for optimal power transmission

Isopulse Optimum power transmission This special lacing (right radial, left double crossed) increases the stability of the wheels and ensures optimum power transmission - thanks to more even spoke tension on the left and right hub flange. - Higher rigidity under high load - for immediate force transmission - Higher wheel stability - for less maintenance Mavic's most demanding bearing technology with double seal and extremely dimensionally stable, micro-fine adjustable. - Extremely dimensional for highest efficiency - Quickly adjustable - depending on your needs: super smooth for maximal smooth running or minimal tighter for worse Weather conditions.

Zicra Special aluminium alloy that produces spokes with better stiffness-to-weight ratio and is even more tensile strength. - Lighter spokes for better climbing properties - Stiffer spokes for better power transmission - More stable spokes for longer life

Maxtal The aluminium alloy manufactured exclusively for Mavic offers a higher strength-to-weight ratio than conventional 6106 aluminium.
- 30% more stable rims
- Lower rim weight

SUP
Soudé Usiné Process. The rim joint is welded and then milled over to achieve an even braking surface.
- Extremely stable rim joint
- Prevents any brake jerking
- Facilitates the spoking and centering of a perfect wheel
