Ksyrium has always represented the best of aluminum wheel technology. The new Ksyrium SL follows in the footsteps of the venerable Ksyrium Elite and Ksyrium Pro and takes it to the next level. It is the perfect all-rounder for those looking for a wheel that performs reliably on the road in everyday use. The new wheel is lightweight (100 g lighter than the previous Ksyrium Elite despite wider rim) and durable as ever - thanks to the patented ISM4D technology. This manufacturing process removes all excess material between the individual spoke holes, while the rim wall remains thick enough where the spoke tension and load is highest. These rims are manufactured in France, in an aluminum rim factory. The double-butted spokes further reduce weight while making the wheel more responsive. These spokes also have a patented elliptical shape that can save 5 watts for added efficiency. The stiffness is optimized by Fore technology. The upper bar is not drilled, so it remains stable and stiff and does not require rim tape (another 30 g savings per rim). The new rim bed shape makes it easier than ever to mount and dismount tires, and our UST Tubeless technology improves rolling resistance and grip while reducing the risk of punctures. The new Infinity hub platform optimizes stiffness and power transfer with highly controlled spoke tension, while the Instant Drive 360 freewheel combined with the automatic bearing preload adjustment (QRM Auto) ensures fast engagement and durability.
