Greg Minnaar's Signature tyres are the essence of his 30 years of racing experience and the expertise of Maxxis from over 50 years of tyre production. The Assegai is a combination of the Minion DHF, Minion DHR II and the HighRoller. Thus it was designed from the best Maxxis profiles.
Doubledown tyres are constructed like downhill tyres: two carcass plies reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. Due to two 120 TPI (instead of 60TPI) carcass plies and aramid bead they are much lighter than the downhill tyres, much more stable and robust than TR + EXO tyres and therefore ideal for hard Enduro courses.

Tubeless tyres have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no inner tube, the risk of a puncture also decreases. MAXXIS TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other tubeless ready tyres. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that the tubeless mounting of all standard rims is already successful with the first inflation and with little liquid.
The Wide Trail construction optimises the tread layout and tyre shape on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and are too angular on wide rims for optimal performance. All Maxxis WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but function perfectly on all rims with an inner diameter between 30 and 39 mm.
