A real racing tyre for real racers. Large volume, fast, with a lot of grip - the Ikon delivers exemplary performance in a wide range of soil conditions, on hard to loose soils. On rocks and roots, even when wet, the 3C rubber compound is convincing. This IKON with EXO Protection is particularly suitable for very rough, rocky terrain. The low additional weight reliably protects the side walls against tearing. 3C MaxxSpeed Maxxis fastest 3C compound for XC and some AllMountain/Enduro tyres is designed for low rolling resistance due to the hard base and the fast compound in the centre of the tread, but with the grippy compound on the sides offers superior grip in curves, even in the wet. Another typical feature of Maxxis is its very long service life.
Tubeless Ready (TR) Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with less air pressure for better traction, rolling resistance is lower than with tubing, and where there is no tubing, the risk of puncture is reduced. Maxxis TR tyres are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other tubeless ready tyres because the bead is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tubeless tyre. Thus the tubeless mounting is successful with all rims which keep the standard dimensions, from the first inflation and with little liquid.
EXO Protection This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewalls of various MTB tyres. It is very densely woven, light and very flexible. Thus the performance of the tyres remains convincingly good.
Foldable beadcore Rings made of Kevlar or another aramid fibre hold the ring securely on the rim. Lower weight and easy transport due to small packing size are advantages.
