Maxxis Rekon Skinwall Folding Tyre 29x2.40" WT EXO TR Dual

The Maxxis Rekon is a very voluminous tyre that you can use for daily touring, shred eagerly in the forest and on AllMountain, but also cope with detours into rougher terrain. The TR version with EXO sidewall protection is designed to be ridden without an inner tube with sealant, but like all TR tires it can also be ridden with an inner tube. Maxxis recommends the Rekon primarily on the rear wheel, which is best combined with a Forekaster in the front, but also with coarser treads.

EXO PROTECTION
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tyres. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. Therefore the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.

DUALCOMPOUND
Two different rubber compounds are processed into one tread strip. Maxxis plans the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired properties of the tyres.

WIDE TRAIL CASING
The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tread layout and tyre shape on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and get a too square shape on wide rims, resulting in less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 39 mm.
