Product description
Maxxis Shorty Clincher Tyre DHF DH 26x2.40" SuperTacky
DH World Cup courses today are steep, technical monsters with constantly changing conditions. The Maxxis pros needed a mid-spike tyre that could handle dry, loose and ridden corners as well as a little mud. The Shorty is such a tyre. A large volume double ply carcass makes it more versatile than WetScream mud tyres. Large, high and slightly staggered side studs penetrate loose ground and ensure predictable navigation of bends at the speed of light. In the middle, two stud types alternate: rectangular and square studs, with strong braking bite and excellent self-cleaning properties.
Wire bead core
The bead core must hold the tyre securely on the rim. High-quality wire is very well suited for this - the disadvantages are: Not foldable and slightly heavier (approx. 50g more)
SuperTacky
The SuperTacky tread is the reference for grip and performance in freeride and downhill tyres, in short the basis of the world's most successful DH tyres. It consists of a basic compound and the SuperTacky compound, which is extremely handy under all ground conditions.
