The ONeal Kamikaze shorts combine the characteristics of an airy inner pant under the MTB baggy shorts with serious protection against injuries to hips, thighs and coccyx. A Coolmax seat cushion, mesh material on the legs and flat seams provide perfect ventilation and comfort in the saddle. On the sides of the hips, thighs and coccyx, ONeal has also placed injection moulded plastic protection zones and high-density EVA foam padding on the Kamikaze inner pants. With high-quality protector inner pants under the casual MTB shorts and the matching other protective equipment, even demanding trail descents can be approached more calmly.

I ordered an L. When the order came in and I put on the shorts I noticed how tight they are. I have a slim build and fairly thin legs and normally clothes fit a little looser. It felt good on my legs, the protection felt solid and as if it would stay in place.
The band at the top felt tight and I was afraid this would bother me. The chamois is also quite thin.
I have now worn them for a day and I am very positively surprised. The chamois did its job well and I had no problems with my butt during the day. The protection is hard, but does not get in the way. I experienced good freedom of movement and when pedaling I hardly noticed that I was wearing the shorts.
The strap at the top was also comfortable and could be worn all day long.
Fortunately, I cannot say anything about the quality of the protection yet.
