Product Description

Please note: all of our bikes and bike accessories are specified according to EU standard brake setup which is in reverse to UK standard brake setup.

Your buddies are preparing inside for hot bike adventures when you invite them on a "quiet tour"? Do your favourite rounds always take you along paths that you can't find on any map? Your tours start with the first rays of sunshine and end with a beer after sunset? Your bike has to go through everything and always be a faithful companion? Are you exactly the type of mountain biker we're talking about? Then the Orbea Occam is the perfect bike for you!

140MM TRAVEL WITH 140/150MM FORK OPTIONS
Modern trailbikes are used for impressively versatile rides. Some riders climb climbs that are thousands of feet long, while others take one lap at a time in a bike park with an infinite number of jumps.
The Occam is available with a 140mm Fox 34 or a 150mm Fox 36, so you can ride as you please.

TRAIL GEOMETRY
Means a flatter steering head angle, which provides more stability. The low crank gives you more natural cornering and the longer cockpit gives you more freedom of movement and balance. The Occam's longer wheelbase gives you more stability at high speeds and the higher saddle angle gives you a more appropriate pedalling position.

Carbon OMR
The OMR (Orbea Monocoque Race) frames are the only ones that combine high-modulus fibres with high-strength fibres.
The pre-impregnated carbon prepreg panels are laser-cut to minimize excess before a lengthy preforming process achieves optimum compaction with the least amount of material.
Thanks to the mould made entirely of expanded polystyrene (EPS), folds and cavities are avoided.

Asymmetric - TEMPERATE
The right-hand support strengthens and stiffens an area subject to high stress. Instead of using a less effective "shock tunnel", the structure of the Occam diverts the impact to the left side of the frame, allowing the asymmetric support to take a more direct path. This straight line, which follows the shock absorber structure, is the most effective way to neutralize the suspension forces in the front triangle.

Asymmetric - ERGONOMICS AND EQUAL WEIGHT
The asymmetrical offset design offers unique advantages that go beyond stiffness and weight savings. The shock absorber is mounted in such a way that its settings are surprisingly easy to reach and the small dimensions leave enough space for an easily accessible water bottle.

Special Features

Orbea Advanced Dynamics

Advanced Dynamics is at the heart of every Orbea suspension bike. But what does Advanced Dynamics actually mean? And why should you care about it at all?

Advanced Dynamics is a computer-aided development process that Orbea have developed together with CEIT (Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Tecnológicas). Using this simulation, the developers can virtually test and tune all their damping systems. They have access to a huge database that includes not only countless damper settings, but also the behaviour of individual components. For example, Orbea's developers can test a set-up with a virtual rider applying pressure to the pedals, saddle and handlebars. They can adapt the test to look at different variables, such as height, weight or riding style. And they can even have this virtual rider ride with different tyre pressures over different tracks.

But Advanced Dynamics is, of course, only part of the development. The people at Orbea ride the bikes themselves, listen to feedback from dealers, study the opinions of the trade media and test the bikes with their race teams. And of course they also listen to the voices of you, the customers. Then they build the prototypes, but that costs a lot of time and money. But in cooperation with Advanced Dynamics, Orbea is starting at a very high level here. Because thanks to the data obtained, the test rides with the prototypes are really only about the final touches and not about keeping their fingers crossed that the bike behaves at least approximately as they imagined. When the first rides finally take place on the trails, the staff at Orbea can concentrate fully on fine-tuning the suspension and spring curves together with the experienced shock manufacturers.

Many people may assume that other manufacturers also develop their suspension bikes in this way, but this is not the case. The combination of Orbea's Advanced Dynamics test database and a particularly close collaboration with shock manufacturers is unique in the industry.
