ORBEA Rise features

The Orbea Rise, the newest electric bike in the Orbea portfolio, was recently unveiled by the Spanish bicycle company. Sporty mountain cyclists seeking a more authentic mountain biking experience with an EMTB are the target market for The Rise. There are also other variants like Orbea rise h20 and Orbea rise m20 in the Rise lineup.

In this review, we will shed light on the main defining features of the Orbea rise. These features can be game changers for the Rise lineup. So, let's get right into it.

Customized Shimano EP8-RS motor

The Orbea Rise benefits from the new Shimano EP8 motor. However, it possesses a special RS designation because modification of the software by Orbea to improve the overall motor efficiency. The EP8-RS Motor's maximum torque on the Orbea Rise is 60 Nm as opposed to the Shimano EP8's maximum torque of 85 Nm.

While the 60 Nm reduces total energy consumption, the reduced torque output is still sufficient to climb hills. As a result, the EP8-RS motor promises to match the performance of normal Shimano and Bosch motors. However, it will be quieter than existing Shimano EP8 motors and will allow you to pedal for longer on a single battery charge.

Modular battery system

The thin-down tube has a 360 Wh internal, fully integrated battery. The design is so good that, just by looking at it, you would never know it includes a battery. The Orbea Rise maintains a wonderful traditional mountain bike appearance thanks to its integrated design. Furthermore, it also significantly reduces the weight of the bike and further protects the battery.

Built quality

For an eBike, the lightweight EP8 RS engine and carbon frame allow you to accelerate swiftly as you cruise along trails. Furthermore, for a more customised feel, you can also change and choose from a variety of components. However, the robust carbon-boiler construction, combined with the 29-inch wheels and 150 mm fork/140 mm rear shock, was created to aid you in navigating more difficult trails.

Control and customization of Shimano E-Tube

Depending on your expertise level and the demands of other cyclists, you may desire more or less absolute control over your eBike engine. Two pre-set RS power profiles are available to keep the Obrea Rise's ride quiet, natural, and responsive while you pedal it over various terrains.

Furthermore, the RS interface's slimmer design is one of its distinguishing features. Without all the additional screens, Orbea aims to achieve a more conventional MTB look and feel.
