Customized Shimano EP8-RS motor
The Orbea Rise benefits from the new Shimano EP8 motor. However, it possesses a special RS designation because modification of the software by Orbea to improve the overall motor efficiency. The EP8-RS Motor's maximum torque on the Orbea Rise is 60 Nm as opposed to the Shimano EP8's maximum torque of 85 Nm.
While the 60 Nm reduces total energy consumption, the reduced torque output is still sufficient to climb hills. As a result, the EP8-RS motor promises to match the performance of normal Shimano and Bosch motors. However, it will be quieter than existing Shimano EP8 motors and will allow you to pedal for longer on a single battery charge.
Modular battery system
The thin-down tube has a 360 Wh internal, fully integrated battery. The design is so good that, just by looking at it, you would never know it includes a battery. The Orbea Rise maintains a wonderful traditional mountain bike appearance thanks to its integrated design.
