Product Description

Please note: all of our bike models come with an EU standard brake setup. This will need to be reversed to comply with UK cycling standards.

Ortler Bozen Performance Bosch 500 9-speed - 28-inch trekking pedelec in a class of its own. Consistently high quality equipment, wheel-specific thought-out down to the last detail and at the same time always sovereign: the heart of the Ortler Bozen Performance Bosch is its intelligent new BOSCH electric drive.

The efficient 250 watt motor offers optimum power development and propulsion on the mountain "without ifs or buts". Thanks to modern E-Power, you can cover long distances and challenging tours with a few meters of altitude when fully charged. The Ortler Bozen Performance Bosch 9 features the latest generation of Bosch e-bike drives and is equipped with a very powerful 500 watt hour battery from Bosch. The intensity of the pedal force support can be freely selected in four stages and thus the range of the pedelec can be influenced by the rider to the nearest kilometer.

Durably equipped with solid Shimano Deore drive technology and a sensitive Suntour suspension fork, the Ortler Bozen Performance leaves nothing to be desired. AXA LED lighting and smooth-running Schwalbe Energizer Active Plus tyres round off the perfect e-bike: Ortler Bozen Performance Bosch Pedelec - intelligent pedelec technology "Made in Germany".

The Bosch drive: "Electronic intelligence for superior driver support" - that's what the BOSCH system says. The perfect symbiosis of drive unit, battery and easy-to-use display turns a conventional bicycle into an intelligent, powerful e-bike. A BOSCH electric bike can be driven like any other bicycle, with support depending on pedal pressure. According to the efficient minimum principle, the motor switches itself off automatically as soon as the rider stops pedalling. Sensors for speed, pedalling force and cadence optimally adjust the engine support to the individual driving behaviour.

Due to the low weight of all components and the low mounting of the drive, the Bosch e-bike has an optimal weight distribution, so that even inclines and more demanding stages can be easily pedaled.

10 years warranty

Frame

10 Year Guarantee

As a thank you to our customers, Bikester voluntarily grants an additional 10-year warranty for all VOTEC's owners, Serious, Vermont, Fixie and Ortler bikes from the date of purchase (except the VOTEC VRC which comes with a 6-year warranty on frame and fork). This warranty covers all frames from the year 2013 onwards and guarantees a replacement or repair. Follow-up costs such as assembly and transport are not included. The warranty excludes damage caused by improper use, such as: jumps, falls, overload or neglect. The guarantee expires in the case of unauthorised changes to the frame as well as the installation and conversion of additional components. In addition, a two-year warranty applies to every parts and surface.

Range

How many miles will my battery last?
Can I get 50 miles from one battery charge or even 120? For those interested in buying an e-bike, this is a very important question. Manufacturers try to be as realistic as they can about possible ranges your e-bike may manage on one complete battery charge. In practice, however, the maximum range depends on many different factors.  As well as the type of motor you have, factors include the energy content (400 or 500 Wh), handling and age of the battery. However, the rider's weight, sitting position, riding style (starting frequency, cadence) and selected support levels (Eco, Tour, Sport, Turbo) all greatly influence the range. Last but not least, the track profile (uphill or flat), the ground (road or terrain), wind (headwind, tailwind) and even tyre profile effect distances possible. This makes it extremely difficult to provide precise and reliable information.

Good trekking bike - thoughts on drive
Gutes Trekkingbike – Gedanken zum Antrieb
Translated from German To the original

Good trekking bike - thoughts on drive After I bought the bike in 10.2018, I've now covered around 1,300 km. The bike has a simple, pleasantly reserved appearance and does its job very well (apart from a few strange motor control anomalies at high single-digit minus degrees). So far everything is great. The tires were immediately exchanged for Marathon Plus Tour, but the Sclaverand valves quickly annoy you. The big sticking point on this bike, despite the excellent implementation, is the Bosch Performance Line drive. Actually great, but the battery should never be empty, or you should never want to go faster than 25 km / h. In both of these cases, a very high engine resistance has to be overcome, which makes the otherwise great driving pleasure very annoying. When the battery is empty, you are extremely annoyed by this phenomenon. Even fast driving with a tailwind beyond the sealed off 25 km / h is no fun. At some point you remain resigned to the 25 km / h and then just itchy in grandpa mode. Then a bike weighing approx. 22 kg without an electric motor. There is insufficient information about this phenomenon in the media. Unfortunately, I have no experience with a Brose drive. But does he promise not to have exactly these properties. Conclusion: Very good bike at an excellent price with annoyingly high pedaling resistance without battery support. Therefor 1 star deduction.
