I've had my Ortler for 3½ years now and only put a little extra air in the tires 3 times - Nothing else. My parents live 2.8 miles away and I can drive with boost back and forth and still have a lot of power left in the battery despite the wind and some elevation differences. The bike still feels like new. Shifts great and the brakes work well. Stays indoors when not in use, but is out in the rain a little from time to time.
It will probably get its first service soon, however, to ensure its longevity.
Feels like it will last for many more years. :)

the bike comes carefully packaged and almost completely assembled in a large, closed box. Handlebars and pedals need to be assembled. The assembly quality is decent, only the handlebars and grips still need to be aligned.
The bike has solid wheels and effective, easily controllable brakes. I prefer the rigid fork to a heavy and largely ineffective suspension fork like the ones used in other models. I would have gladly spent €30 more on a frame lock so that I only had to fiddle with one key.
The 7000 Shimano is powerful and pleasantly quiet compared to the 6 series. The 9 gears are sufficient and can be shifted cleanly.
Unfortunately, there are also a few drawbacks:
1. the mudguards that are too narrow and too short (additional mud flaps can help a little).
2. the charging socket embedded in the frame came off the first time it was used, the 3mm screws simply tore out when the plug was pulled out. The adapter, which is used to charge the battery externally, is also quite wobbly on the contacts.
3. You should be aware that you are paying the cheap price with a very limited service and have someone nearby who can make up for this deficiency.

I asked myself why should you buy a high-priced e-bike for everyday use if you only value a certain motor type and manufacturer?
The basic price for the selected motor, battery and electronic control is generally the same for the high and low priced bikes. Even if advertising wants to tell us the opposite.
The ultimate price difference is therefore only determined by the gimmicks that one or the other attaches personal value to.
But honestly. For an everyday bike, the saddle, handlebars and luggage rack, and possibly the lighting, are decisive. And you can change it afterwards if you need to.
After the well-packaged, fast (5 days from order) and well-managed delivery by Hermes, one was surprised that a multi-socket wrench tool and other wrenches were included in the scope of delivery and that the pedals, the handlebars and a small bell could be attached within 5-10 minutes. After attaching the display to the handlebars, it was clear that the Shimano battery had to be charged from 0%. After about 4 hours, 60%-70% was reached and a test drive to check was scheduled.
What makes the low price?
1. The anthracite colored finish is a simpler design. No "sanding varnish". You can live with that, especially since the original paintwork doesn't look bad, but it will get scratches in rough everyday use.
2. A simple, wide but not uncomfortable saddle. I exchanged this for a saddle that appealed to me more. But according to research on the Internet, saddle replacement is also a fundamental, personally inspired process for design eBikes.
3. A rigid seat post.
My exchange for a suspension seat post in addition to my personal favorite saddle was a total additional investment of around €100. And the driving comfort is ultimately great.
4. No front trailing arm fork installed.
Recommended on gravel roads and forest paths. Really not necessary in the city and on general cycle paths, which is why the absence doesn't bother me personally. And frankly, the frame design is made for city and bike lanes where the rigid fork is ok,
5. No bike lock.
There are attachment points on the frame that allow the attachment of appropriate frame locks (AXA, ABUS, Trelock, etc.), provided you have 2x 5mm screws (l= approx. 20mm) in stock, because neither Ortler (Fahrrad.de) or the listed lock manufacturers supply them.
According to my first test, the Shimano Steps E7000 motor is a great powerhouse in the complete package with 9-speed gears. Quiet, unobtrusively supportive and decoupled above 25km/h unobtrusively and without bumping. Only a look at the display shows that you are driving at 30km/h and more with muscle power. If the driving speed drops, the Shimano motor switches on again just as calmly.
In Eco mode, a range of 100-120km is possible, which of course will drop rapidly to 50-60km in permanent Boost mode and in hilly terrain.
Fahrrad.de has delivered a well-rounded overall package with the house brand Ortler for me as an everyday cyclist who is no longer driven by youthful goals, the construction and conversion of which every age group and every gender can easily manage.
