Ergogrips sometimes differ significantly in shape from the classic round grip shape. In most cases, the Ergo shape offers a larger hand rest on the outside, which is more comfortable for the ball of the hand and the wrist joint but still provides control. Some Ergo grips also offer integrated bar ends and thus additional grip positions. Most Ergogrips are clamping models so that the grip does not slip and accurate adjustment is easier. These grips are also available in short versions for twist grip shifters. The ergonomic position is usually optimized for relatively straight handlebar shapes. Handlebars with a lot of sweep already offer different hand positions, which may not benefit from the ergonomic grip shape.
