Sealant is essential for setting up your tubeless tyres: before your first ride it seals tiny gaps between tyre and rim and patches smaller holes by itself that may occur when riding. Check approximately every two months if there's still enough sealant in your tyres and refill if necessary. In racing tyres there should be about 30 ml and in MTB tires at least twice that.
