The Joint VPD Air Knee protector is extremely flexible and light and is a multi-purpose knee protector combining freedom of movement with an exceptional level of impact absorbency.

The protector is constructed from a reinforced stretch fabric and features an elastic strap to further secure the pads in place. The protective padding is perforated to improve ventilation and heat control. Its impact absorbency rating meets the EN1621-1 standard, giving exceptional protection from impact forces in a fall.

The Joint VPD Air knee pad is ideal for downhill riders who require the highest level of protection. The VPD material warms and adapts to the shape of the body, providing freedom of movement, but when exposed to impact, the material hardens, providing exceptional impact absorption.

VPD is highly impact absorbent, comfortable and adapts to create an individual fit and due to its high level of protection and the ability to transition from soft to hard during impact, we don’t have to choose between safety and flexibility.

Many back protectors are lightweight, but may not be optimal for shock absorption. Some can take one impact with good shock absorption, but a second impact to the protector will transfer a much higher amount of energy to the user, the third an even greater amount and so on. VPD material retains the same high absorption level, and that is an important property for POC since they believe that a protector will have several impacts during one fall, and during its lifetime.
