RockShox - Ready to Race

RockShox suspension forks and shocks are many riders’ first choice for their mountain, enduro, or downhill bikes. The brand was founded in 1989 by two motorcross enthusiasts: Paul Turner and Steve Simons and the pair quickly revolutionised the world of suspension parts. With their knowledge of the motorcross area, the two developed the first suspension forks to cope with rough terrain by bike. In 2002, RockShox was successfully brought into the SRAM family.

RockShox Suspension for Smoother Trail Riding

RockShox changed the early world of mountain biking in the 1980s when the company introduced advanced suspension forks and rear suspension systems to riders. Today, under the SRAM umbrella, RockShox continues to design innovative suspension forks, rear suspensions, seat posts, axles, and hubs. RockShox suspension systems are crafted to unlock performance in your bike by offering unparalleled damping without unnecessary energy loss. With RockShox on your mountain bike, you can not only expect a smoother ride, but also have the power and control to tackle aggressive cross country routes and downhill lines. If you’re looking to upgrade your hardtail or full suspension mountain bike, RockShox suspension systems are a terrific investment in your riding.

RockShox Suspension Forks

RockShox suspension forks are known amongst mountain bikers for being rugged and durable while also providing arguably the best damping of any modern suspension system. The company offers a huge variety of suspension forks, so it’s helpful to understand what each RockShox fork series brings to the table:

    • 30 - The 30 series is a budget-friendly suspension fork with between 80 and 120 mm of travel. These forks use steel stanchions and coil springs, which makes them a bit heavy.
    • Argyle - The Argyle fork line is designed primarily for dirt jumpers. These forks are extremely rugged and durable, built for hard-hitting landings, but also can be quite heavy.
    • Lyrik - The Lyrik fork series is designed for aggressive downhill riding, with a huge 170 mm of travel on the suspension. The single crown makes it lighter than many triple-clamp downhill forks.
    • Pike and Yari - The Pike and Yari fork series offer long travel – 140 to 160 mm – and are designed for a wide range of trail riding. Pike forks are somewhat lighter and more expensive than Yari forks, but both offer excellent adjustability so you can tailor them to any full suspension mountain bike.
    • Reba and Recon - Reba and Recon forks are biased towards less aggressive trail riding styles, making them ideal for cross country routes on hardtail or full suspension mountain bikes. They offer travel of 80 to 120 mm and are lighter than most comparably priced forks – the Reba line is slightly lighter and more expensive than the Recon line.
    • Sektor and Revelation - The Sektor and Revelation forks are essentially longer travel versions of the Reba and Recon forks, spanning travels of 130 to 150 mm. While they’re less durable and dampened than the Pike and Yari fork lines, they are ideal for less aggressive riders who want additional suspension travel.
    • SID - The SID line of forks is designed specifically for cross country riders and mountain bike racers. It’s lightweight, but expensive, and offers a lot of damping activity when not locked out.

RockShox Rear Shocks

For full suspension mountain bikes, RockShox also designs rear shock systems. While the company does offer some budget-friendly coil shocks, most RockShox rear shocks use an air coil suspension for increased performance and reduced weight. The Monarch line is designed for all-around riding, while the larger Vivid rear shock series is tuned specifically for aggressive downhill riding.
