Ride Concepts Shoes

Ride Concept was born in 2018, becoming the first MTB footwear company to produce a diverse range of technical footwear for men, women and young people. Based in the beautiful mountains of Lake Tahoe, the founders are all avid mountain bikers and understand the need for comfortable and durable mountain bike shoes whilst doing what they love best.

Mountain bike shoes

Different types of MTB shoes include:

  • All-mountain and trail
  • Enduro and gravity
  • Dirt jump and slope style

All-mountain and trail shoes are a great all-rounder if you like to mix it up whilst riding. They often ingrate shock absorption technology in the soles and are light, yet supportive. The lightweight design ensures the utmost sensitivity and connection to your pedals, even in wet conditions. The microfiber uppers have an anti-bacterial mesh lining, with enough space to allow air movement in and out of your shoes.

Enduro shoes will generally offer more toe-cap protection, and some Ride Concept shoes have a style that sits further up your ankle, with strong velcro straps to minimise the shoe's movement on the foot.

The best thing about a lot of the Ride Concepts shoes are the soles. Every rider knows that one of the most important elements, when you're riding, is being well-connected to the pedals. The hexagonal design of many of their dirt jump shoes allows brilliant contact and grip on the pedals, and the stiff but flexible shoe design offers protection whilst also allowing movement.

BMX shoes

The Ride Concepts Vice shoes are a great choice if you enjoy BMXing. The outsole employs their signature gradient diameter hexagon pattern, which has been specifically designed to bring the pedal closer to the rider. This increased sensitivity allows for a much smoother and more successful ride.

The flexibility of the sole and the heel padding ensure that a certain degree of shock absorption is obtained whilst striking a balance between foot protection and sensitivity. This is critical if you're going to be doing tricks and flips that require you to have the utmost control of your body on the bike.

Foot to pedal connection

As well as the many shoes from Ride Concept offering the signature hexagonal sole, they also produce click shoes that have cleat boxes, allowing a strong connection to the pedal. With a new way of connecting the click pedals that is safe and adaptable, their click shoes have made this type of Ride Concept shoe a favourite for racing teams, such as the Atherton Racing World Cup team.

Ride Concept are a great choice because their range of versatile shoes is often interchangeable between different types of MTB and BMX riding, as well as offering shoes for all genders and ages. They're aware that the anatomical foot shapes of men, women and young people are different and build their footwear accordingly.
