In the late 1990s, Segway first set itself the task of translating human locomotion and balance into an electronic mobility device. Its history began with a self-balancing wheelchair, which enabled its driver to travel safely and steadily even over uneven
surfaces. Soon after, the first Personal Transporter was introduced and Segway has been developing transport solutions ever since that allow people to get ahead, move faster and experience more.
