Santa Cruz's greatest successes combined in one bike!
If there's one bike that matches your favourite mixtape, it's the Hightower. With lower linkage shock articulation and updated adjustable geometry, this "Engineering Best Of...." combines some of the finest tunes into the perfect trail partner.
The Hightower has been their most versatile trail bike since its introduction. It is more agile than its big suspension brother Megatower, but more confident on technical terrain than its nimble cousin Tallboy. The Hightower scores where the trails are long and demanding and steep climbs are rewarded with real descents. The VPP shock, controlled via the lower bellcrank, creates an almost linear spring curve, absorbing shocks of all sizes while still retaining the progressivity that originally characterised our V10 DH bike!
With 145mm of travel at the rear and 150mm at the front, the Hightower now gets slightly more travel than the first generation. In combination with a 65° steering angle, the bike still has a very wide comfort zone, but offers a little more reserve when your temper gets the better of you.
The perfect balance between stiffness and weight savings is a trademark of all Santa Cruz carbon frames. And the Hightower raises the bar a little higher. The advanced carbon chassis dances elegantly over all trail conditions, holding the line where it's called for and reacting sensitively to the rider's directional changes while converting every kick into propulsion in isolation.
The Hightower also has that certain something that intensifies the experience. They call it the Flip Chip. In the high setting, the bottom bracket height is slightly higher for technical pedalling and/or when plus tyres are desired. In the low position, the characteristic curve is a little more progressive to provide additional bottom-out resistance for a more aggressive ride. The bike adapts to your preferences.
And speaking of preferences: There's enough space in the main frame for your drinks bottle and the famously reliable, bolted bottom bracket. The sophisticated cable routing guarantees better shifting performance as well as the usual easy cable routing and avoids cable abrasion. There's also a shuttle guard and an impact guard on the down tube, as well as a small mudguard over the shock and a chainstay guard to keep things nice and quiet.
With a lifetime frame warranty, lifetime frame bearing replacement and lifetime warranty on the optional spare carbon wheels, your Hightower promises you lasting reliability
