Santa Cruz biggest successes united in one bike!
If one bike matches your favourite mixtape, then it's the Hightower. With damper linkage via the lower bell crank and updated adjustable geometry, this "Engineering Best Of..." combines some of the finest tunes to make the perfect trail partner.
The Hightower is the most versatile trail bike since its introduction. It's more agile than its big suspension way brother Megatower, but in technical terrain it's more confident than its nimble cousin Tallboy. The Hightower scores points where the trails are long and demanding and steep climbs are rewarded with real downhills. The VPP shock absorber, which is controlled via the lower bell crank, creates an almost linear spring characteristic, which absorbs shocks of all sizes while still maintaining the progressiveness that originally characterises the V10 DH bike!
With 140mm travel at the rear and 150mm at the front, the Hightower now has a little more travel than the first generation. In combination with a 65° steering angle, the bike still has a very wide comfort zone, but offers a little more reserves if the temperament gets the better of you.
The perfect balance between stiffness and weight saving is a trademark of all Santa Cruz carbon frames. And the Hightower raises the bar a little higher. The advanced carbon chassis dances elegantly over all trail conditions, keeps the line where it's needed and reacts sensitively to changes in the rider's direction while isolating every start and converting it into propulsion.
The Hightower also has that certain something that makes the experience even more intense. Santa Cruz call it the Flip Chip. In the High setting the bottom bracket height is a little higher for technical pedalling and/or when plus tyres are desired. In the lower position the characteristic is a bit more progressive to provide additional bottom-out resistance and thus allow for a more aggressive ride. The bike adapts to your preferences.
And speaking of preferences: There's plenty of room in the main frame for your water bottle and the renowned reliable bolt-on bottom bracket. The sophisticated cable routing guarantees a better shifting performance as well as the usual easy cable routing and avoids cable abrasion. There is also a shuttle guard and an impact protection on the down tube, as well as a small mudguard above the shock and a chainstay guard that keeps things pleasantly steady.
With a lifetime frame warranty, lifetime exchange of frame bearings and the lifetime warranty on the optional spare carbon wheels, your Hightower promises you lasting reliability.
